Miami Realtor Pledges to Assist Hurricane Charley Victims
Miami, FL August 19, 2004 — Coldwell Banker Realtor Michelle Vrasic pledges to give a portion of her earned commissions to the victims of Hurricane Charley. ?My heart goes out to all the hurricane victims, so much that I had to help in any way possible,? said Michelle. ?It could have just as easily been the Miami area. I am happy to be able to help — every little bit counts.?
She is donating 25% of earned commissions on any transaction begun or completed prior to the end of this year to the Red Cross. In addition, residents in the areas hit hard by Hurricane Charley who need help finding a rental home can contact Michelle for assistance.
Most disaster victims aren?t prepared for the catastrophic event. A July 2004 Red Cross poll showed that just two in ten Americans felt ?very prepared? for a disaster. Only half knew of their child?s school or daycare disaster plan, and the number of people who knew of their workplace disaster plan was also only half. Just one in ten American households has a family emergency plan, a disaster kit, and is trained in first aid and CPR.
?September is National Preparedness Month,? said Michelle. ?You can contact the American Red Cross at www.redcross.org to learn what to have in your emergency kit, get trained in first aid, and make a family evacuation plan. It often takes a disaster to get you to prepare for one.?
